Every year in the United States,  children are diagnosed with a life-threatening condition  they must endure. This is often a difficult sight for loved ones and friends to witness as the victim battles the illness. However, the Make-A-Wish Foundation was established to grant desires for children who are suffering from a prolonged illness. The Foundation aspires to create a less tumultuous path for the young victims to help ease the process. In 1986, the Central California Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation became established; over 1,800 wishes have been granted for children across various counties.

Several volunteer opportunities, sponsored by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, are held each month for the public to participate in. This Saturday, October 1st, Michelangelo’s Sixth Annual Golf Tournament will be held at the Riverside Golf Course. All of the proceeds from this event will contribute towards granting multiple wishes for children suffering

from life-threatening illnesses. The event will consist of a golf tournament, which is free for the public to watch. Afterwards, there will be a dinner held at 4:30 PM, which requires a $20 fee per person to take part in. Gift bags and raffle prizes will be distributed throughout the evening, along with various fun-filled activities. Volunteers are welcome to arrive at the Riverside Golf Course, from any time between 7:00 AM to 9:30 PM, and will be instructed on which components of the event to assist with.

  • How would it make you feel if you enabled a sick child to obtain bliss throughout their treatment?
  • When was the last time you volunteered to make a child’s wish come true?
  • Please do not hesitate to get involved with this exciting event and ultimately alleviate a child’s suffering.
